Proof of course completion must be presented to the clerk's office at the time of the application to receive the discount.

Marriage License Use & Restrictions

Marriage licenses have a mandatory 3-day waiting period if the couple is composed of at least one Florida resident. If both people are non-Florida residents, there is not a waiting period. Florida residents can skip the waiting period by attending a premarital course. Both individuals must complete the course if they wish to skip the wait. After receiving the marriage license, couples should realize that it will expire 60 days from the issue date. Couples who have not solemnized their marriage within that timeframe will need to reapply and pay the fee to get a new one before they can get married. The license must be returned to the clerk's office within 10 days following the ceremony.
